About Potentiometers

Potentiometers (sometimes referred to as pots) are user-adjustable variable resistors. They have three terminals: a fixed terminal, a wiper terminal, and a variable terminal. The resistance between the fixed terminal and the wiper terminal can be adjusted by physically rotating a shaft (a rotary potentiometer) or a slider (a slide potentiometer.)
