In today’s ever-changing business landscape where industries and technologies are evolving at an unprecedented pace, the ability to react quickly, adapt and seize opportunity empowers organisations to not only navigate the currents of change but to thrive and cultivate robust customer partnerships.
Speed and agility have always been critical weapons in TT’s armoury, key components in our value proposition and successes over recent years. Mix both with a commitment to support evolving customer needs with strategic investment and you then create a powerful catalyst for business innovation and sustained growth.
This magical formula is something we have witnessed first-hand in our own business. In the last 12 months, driven by a growing order book and continued global supply challenges – TT moved swiftly to unlock growth opportunities.
The solution? Strategic investment in our global manufacturing footprint in North America and Asia as we scale to meet customer demand while mitigating supply chain risk, navigating geopolitical uncertainties and providing more choice for our customers when it comes to manufacturing location.
The expansion of our global manufacturing footprint includes a brand-new facility in Mexico and a significant expansion to the existing facility in Malaysia.
The deliberate choice to invest in Mexico and Malaysia reflects our extensive familiarity with both regions, rooted in a long-standing history. As our customers articulated a growing demand for additional manufacturing capabilities in these regions, aligning with their geopolitical and broader sustainability objectives, we responded proactively. This move is a testament to our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers and aligning our strategy to meet their goals.
We have been active in Mexico for over 40 years with operations in both Mexicali and Juarez, where our team have earned a reputation for developing high-reliability sensor technologies and continue to set the industry benchmark for operational excellence, manufacturing quality and employee engagement.
At the new Mexicali facility, which sits adjacent to the existing TT site, we are adding 75,000-square-feet with capacity for up to six highly automated SMT lines and additional assembly capabilities. The facility will be our ninth location in North America and will be supported closely by our NPI (New Product Introduction) centre of excellence in Cleveland, Ohio to deliver vertically integrated electronics manufacturing solutions.
